Finally got my Civ4: Beyond the Sword expansion disc yesterday (along with Warlords) so I’m now all expansioned up ready for tonight’s game. Did a clean install on my desktop box and made sure to patch up fully, so hopefully I should be good to go.

Well, I started HP7 at about 10am this morning, my mother having finished reading it yesterday, and I just finished it about 5 minutes ago. The ending was decent enough, but doesn’t really have the kind of finality that some people were expecting – there’s still room that other adventures could potentially be inserted into.

Our copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows arrived at the sleep-disturbingly early time of 8am this morning. Since my mum paid for it, she gets first dibs on reading it and she is already halfway through. Which leaves me twiddling my thumbs and looking for stuff to do until she finishes it.

I probably mentioned this before, but in case I didn’t (for example, because of my blog software being broken), I’m going to be attending AmeCon 2007 in August. I’ll be going down to Leicester on Thursday 9th August and coming back up on Monday 13th. I already got my train tickets and everything booked so it’s just a case of waiting now.. and part of this month’s wages will make up my spending money for the con.

OK, I installed Wordpress because my old blog software was completely broken since I added a new hard drive to my Linux box. Guess I should have done some research on how to move MySQL databases across from one Linux install to another but oh well. The old one was getting pretty antiquated anyway. Anyone who’s subscribed to my blog RSS feed will need to update their links, but the main URL of the blog remains unchanged. My old blog can be found here.
